Beloved star Patrick Swayze who was well known for his roles as romantic leading men in films such as Dirty Dancing, Ghost, and the North and South television miniseries passed away at the age of 57 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was diagnosed in January 2008 and underwent treatments while continuing his acting career.  His last role was the lead in the A & E series, “The Beast” which premiered in January 2009 however the show was cancelled several months later.
Patrick was a devoted husband to his wife, Lisa Niemi whom he met when she was 14 while she was taking dance lessons from his mother who was a choreographer.  They never had any children, but shared their passion for horses in which they bred on their many ranches.  He talks about his 34 year marriage in his upcoming memoir, The Time of My Life.
He will certainly be missed by many in the entertainment industry as well as fans from all over the world.
