13 Tips from Cindy Velazquez

BUMP CHIC

If you have been putting off having a family for lack of cute maternity clothes, your wait is over thanks to celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Katie Holmes, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Angelina Jolie who have brought back the empire waistline or no-waist look from the fifties. Of course, for those of you who prefer to flaunt your bump a la Britney Spears or Kate Hudson, there are always plenty of nonmaternity designs available to suit your taste. For more on "bump chic" US weekly's book, "Secrets of Celebrity Style" has devoted an entire chapter to maternity wear.

HOOKED ON "24"

Do you find yourself watching the clock and counting down to 24 hours? If so, you are not alone. After five seasons the "24" television show has become one of the most watched shows on the planet. We are fascinated with Kiefer Sutherland's character, Jack Bauer, as he risks his life while saving the world from terrorists in 24 hours. Get ready for another "long day" as we watch our "hero" battle the enemies once again in the sixth season "24". Tune in to Fox station on Monday nights as 9:00 EST for more nail-biting moments!

HEARTBREAK HOTEL

Must be something in the water in Hollywood as several celebrity couples have taken a detour to "Heartbreak Hotel". There were a few surprise break ups such as Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe, as well as Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt who seemed like the perfect couple. Of course, we weren't surprised at the break up of couples such as Britney Spears and Kevin Federline who were a train wreck ready to happen nor did we blink an eye over the news that Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock have gone kaput. Now that was one union that never should have happened. At the rate these celebrities are going, Hollywood is going to be renamed "Heartbreak City".

IN STYLE WEDDINGS

If you are not fortunate to get an invitation to a celebrity wedding the next best thing to being an invitee is to watch "In Style Celebrity Weddings" which airs every year in January on the ABC network stations. You will get the inside scoop on several couples as to how they met and all the details of the wedding such as the wedding attire, location, and the honeymoon. The last episode of "In Style Celebrity Weddings" had the extravagant Italian wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes as well as the small, intimate wedding of Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott on a secluded island. Every celebrity wedding is special no matter the size or the location; it's all about the romance that the couple shares and how they choose to start the journey of their life together.

FROM MCDREAMY TO MCDADDY

Patrick Dempsey aka "McDreamy" and his wife, Jillian, welcomed twin boys on February 1, 2007 in Los Angeles. Darby Galen and Sullivan Patrick join big sister Taula, who is 5 years old. Maybe the little guys will follow their father's footsteps and become future "McDreamies"
when they grow up. The proud papa will certainly have his hands full playing the role of "McDaddy".

"UGLY BETTY" AMERICA FERRARA ENGAGED

The year 2007 is turning out to be a great year for America Ferrera won a Golden Globe and a SAG award for her role in the new hit TV series, "Ugly Betty". In addition to these awards she also scored the best prize when her boyfriend, Ryan Piers Williams, whom she met in film school, proposed to her in January. They haven't picked out the engagement ring nor have they set a wedding date yet, however they are preparing to move into their new home which they just purchased in Bevery Hills. They are having a great time decorating and shopping for furniture together.

PARIS WEDDING

Eva Longoria of "Desperate Housewives" and Tony Parker, NBA star, are planning their summer wedding in one of the world's most romantic cities. The ceremony will take place in Paris on July 7, 2007. Mindy Weiss, the wedding planner for the stars, is planning a romantic setting with lots of candles and flowers. They are expecting about 100 guests which will likely include her co-stars from "Desperate Housewives". The bride is leaning towards a Monique Lhuillier gown which she will help design. Her financee proposed to her in December with a 5 carat emerald cut diamond ring.

NEW REALITY SERIES

Supermodel Petra Nemcova is hosting a television show this summer for aspiring models. Nemcova is a survivor of the 2004 Asian tsnumani where she clung to a tree for eight hours with a shattered pelvis. She has fully recovered form her injuries and has founded a children's charity called "Happy Hearts Fund". In her new series, "The Petra Nemcova Project" airing on TLC she will help six women navigate the competitive world of modeling. In each episode the women will also learn about appreciating life and respecting cultural differences. Nemcova has dedicated her life to helping others and this new television series will give her an opportunity to contiue her charitable work.

POSH TO SPICE UP TELEVISION

Former Spice girl, Victoria Beckham, has inked a $19.5 million dollars deal for a summer reality show on the NBC netwrok station. The series will offer an exclusive look inside Victoria's fabulous life as she relocates to the United States where her husband, David, will play for L.A. Galaxy starting in the Fall of 2007. Although David and her three sons will not appear on the show it is possible that a few of Victoria's famous friends such as Katie Holmes and Jennifer Lopez could pop up in one of more of the six half hour episodes. The show is produced by Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment which is the same company responsible for American Idol. Fuller was also the mastermind behind the Spice Girls.

RICH BUT NOT SPOILED

Ivanka Trump is living proof that you don't have to be spoiled just because your daddy is a billionaire. Instead of spending countless nights at nonstop parties and endless days of shopping sprees, this Wharton graduate can be found in her modest office at New York's Trump Tower where she holds the title: Vice President, Development and Acquisitions for the Trump Organization. Although she has no interest in being a television star, she signed on to "The Apprentice" where she is joined by her older brother, Donald Jr., because she felt it would be good for business and to help her father. This former model enjoys earning her own living rather than playing the role of a socialite or heiress.

DEAL OR NO DEAL

This hit game show on the NBC network station with Howie Mandel as the host is both exciting and fun to watch. Of course, we know that being a comedian makes it entertaining to watch Howie, however the best part is watching the 24 gorgeous models on the show. They each carry a briefcase which holds an amount of money anywhere from a penny to one million dollars. Each contestant has to select so many briefcases as the game proceeds in hope to win the million dollars at the end. In the meantime, they have to deal with a "banker" who is hidden in a booth so no one can identify him as he makes deals throughout the game. It can get very intense especially towards the end when the contestant has to make a decision if he/she should accept the deal or select one more briefcase. It's all about timing as well as luck.
