February 5, 2010, Newsletter Issue #156: Life On The Prairie and Beyond

Tip of the Week

Actress Melissa Gilbert whom we all remember as the pigtailed girl in the hit series "Little House on the Prairie" from 1974 to 1983 has written a memoir entitled "Prairie Tale" which looks back at her childhood during the show, her stormy romance with Rob Lowe as a teenager, her failed marriage to Bo Brinkman and her bout with alcoholism as a grown-up.

After spending years trying to distance herself from the character she played on the television series, the forty-five year old mother of two boys and two stepsons whom she shares with her husband of 14 years, Bruce Boxleitner, now feels comfortable in her own skin enough to look back on those years.  Besides her tell-all book she will return to play Ma in a musical stage version of Little House in the Fall of 2009 touring through 2010.
